Saturday Night and My Dad
Saturday night and rainy and blustery out there as Winnie the Pooh would say. After leaving my Dad's yesterday I wonder why he has to suffer. At his age he should be relishing in all the abilities he CAN do not be in pain with blisters that are so painful from MRSA. I keep praying for him. Those of you reading my blog, please, if you so choose say a prayer or think positive thoughts for him. I would be so appreciative. AT 86 he deserves PEACE in body, mind and his spirit....I hope God gives him good health again. Yesterday was the 11th that he started taking his meds for the MRSA again. Takes 10 days if it works again. I will call him tomorrow to hear how he is doing.
Thanks for reading this.
Hugs,
Cheryl

I HATE MRSA
MRSA
Also called: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It causes an infection that is resistant to several common antibiotics. There are two types of infection. Hospital-associated MRSA happens to people in healthcare settings. Community-associated MRSA happens to people who have close skin-to-skin contact with others, such as athletes involved in football and wrestling.
Infection control is key to stopping MRSA in hospitals. To prevent community-associated MRSA
Practice good hygiene
Keep cuts and scrapes clean and covered with a bandage until healed
Avoid contact with other people’s wounds or bandages
Avoid sharing personal items, such as towels, washcloths, razors, or clothes
Wash soiled sheets, towels and clothes in hot water with bleach and dry in a hot dryer
If a wound appears to be infected, see a healthcare provider. Treatment may include draining the infection and antibiotics.
I HATE MRSA!

Last night
Last night was fantastic. Last football game of the season for my alma mater and WE WON! First league game that we have won all season and will be the only one.......42-21. Nice ending for the football playing seniors and band memebers who are leaving San Diego State this coming year. Go Aztecs!

Well well well.........
Sarah Palin does it again........not being at all worried she was on a TURKEY FARM ........she interviews with a turkey being slaughtered in plain view on camera behind her. The guy doing the slaughtering looks right INTO the camera on the side of the turkey being slaughtered. Geesh! What next? ugh! I don't get it....even President Bush doesn't GO TO the turkey farm but the turkey brought to him. *rolling eyes here* What next? Am sure .....to be continued!

Well........
Well, ah, my alma mater, San Diego State Univ. lost it's 2nd to last football game 64-14 to Utah last night. What a sad state of affairs to watch. Left the game at the end of 3rd quarter because it hurts so badly to watch them play (if that's what one calls it). Anyway, one more football game for the season and the hurt and pain will be over. *sigh* BTW I hope you know if you are reading this, I HATE, LOATHE, DETEST football: watching, being there, trying to figure out the rules of the game. *ugh*

From My Blogging Friend Margaret....
Today the worst person in politics is not Sarah Palin. It is Elizabeth Dole who ran an ad suggesting that her opponent is godless. Nevermind that her opponent, Kay Haggan, is a Sunday school teacher and an elder in her church. Nevermind that calling someone “Godless” leads to jets flying into skyscrapers. Nevermind any of that. Just follow this argument to its logical conclusion. Quick somebody, throw Haggan into a lake and see if she floats!
There is a reason that separation of church and state exists in the founding documents of our great nation. Our founding fathers were all too familiar with living in a world of religious prosecution just as much as they understood the ramifications of a government without religion. The solution is a government that allows both freedom for religion and freedom from religion. Smart bunch of guys those founding fathers.
A bit of history: On September 17, 1787 the Constitutional Convention came to a close in the Assembly Room of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although seventy individuals were chosen to attend the meetings, ultimately only thirty-nine actually signed the Constitution. George Mason of Virginia, Edmund Randolph of Virginia, and Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts refused to sign the final document primarily because they were fearful of an all-powerful government and wanted a bill of rights added to protect the rights of the people. We owe a great deal to these men.
But today, Elizabeth Dole has spit on all of their graves.
It’s not pretty, but it’s almost over. Go vote.

Just a thought today.........
JUST A THOUGHT................
I can't think of anything more elite than owning 9 houses 13 cars, having a wife that spends $300,000 on clothes for a convention, a running mate that spends $150,000 on clothes in 2 months and having the highest paid member of your staff be a makeup artist.
Now I ask you, who's elite and who's out of touch with everyday Joes?

Automation/Electrical/Electronics
Was just thinking here what would I do w/o my electronic and electrical appliances. So many things I use on a daily basis cut down housework immensely. So today I am thankful for all things electrical and automatic........especially this laptop.
Have a great Saturday everyone. San Diego State football game tonight!

Americans are angry? and I voted!!!!!!!!!!
Today I voted by mail and I have to blog about my feelings. It feels like a dark cloud has lifted over me and that I can resume NORMAL life now after 2 years of this crap. I can't believe, we as a nation, allow campaigning to start before Labor Day??? or say not before Memorial Day or whatever. It is sickening to see the $ spent, wasted and for what? Most of us know who we were going to vote for just by our party affiliation or our feelings on certain candidates or ballot measures each election. So why the need to prolong it? For those who don't, let THEM listen to all the crap on tv, radio, and read the newspapers. I for one find making a living, caring for others' medical needs, family, grands, home and hearth etc. etc. more important than monotonous MONTHS of campaigning by the media of any form.
I'll leave you with this from my friend Margaret: John McCain thinks Americans are angry? Really? I think he needs to look beyond his rallies. Americans are not angry. Republicans are angry. Bush screwed ‘em over and now McCain is rubbing salt in the wound. It looks to me like The Straight Talk Express is stuck in traffic and its driver is experiencing a little road rage. The rest of us are hopeful and anxious, but certainly not angry. We want change and it is so close we can almost taste it. The next two weeks will be the longest.
Thanks, Margaret!
